ESL - ENGLISH FOR BEGINNERS consists of 4 videos, approximately 30 minutes each in length. Available in 24 languages, they feature close-up, full-face narration of simple sentences in English language with a mixture of translation and visuals so that beginning ESL students can easily follow and repeat with good comprehension. The content of Parts One and Two includes the school, the library, the cafeteria, the mountains, the seashore and even the zoo with many other stops along the way. The translation ratio is 3.48:1 in favor of English.
$65.00The content of Parts Three and Four offer a bilingual pathway through 911 emergencies, shopping, asking for and understanding directions and finding a home. The translation ratio is 3.52 in favor of English.

All four parts are $100.00These unique videos use puppets, mimes, people and animals in live action in order to promote comprehension and retention with a minimum of translation. All translation is spoken by native speakers. There is no music over the spoken English.

Resource Books for ENGLISH FOR BEGINNERSResource Book, Parts 1 & 2
For teachers who wish to use these videos as part of a directed lesson, we have a resource book for parts 1 & 2 and another book for Parts 3 & 4. The books are free upon request when you purchase the videos.
The resource book for Parts 1 & 2 has eight lessons for Part 1 and eight lessons for Part 2. These require simple materials and include preview and follow-up activities. In addition, there are independent activities that require little or no supervision. These lessons are very simple and may even be presented by an untrained volunteer or classroom aide. They may also be combined to create longer or more complex lessons.
The content of the lessons for Parts 1 & 2 includes:
- Simple nouns
- The verb "to be" in various forms
- Singular, plural and possessive forms
- "Question" words: who, what, where, how
- Simple verbs
- Days of the week
- Months of the year
- Names of foods
- Opposites
- Simple sentences

Resource Book, Parts 3 & 4
The resource book for Parts 3 & 4 has six lessons for Part 3 and five lessons for Part 4. These lessons have preview activities, follow-up activities and independent work. Both books have suggestions for modifying lessons to fit either children or adults, when appropriate.
